Although nannies can do some light housekeeping, such requirements generally detract from the nanny’s ability to perform the best with children. Generally, any housekeeping requirements should relate only to housekeeping pertaining to the children. This should result in better child care, which, of course, is the ultimate goal. If any housekeeping is to be required, such expectations should be clearly brought up and specifically agreed to up front. In this manner everyone’s expectations can be met and both parties can be satisfied.
